Suzie Hurley, who founded Willow Street Yoga Center in Takoma Park, MD. in 1994, has been teaching Yoga for over 40 years. She draws mainly from her extensive study in the Anusara, Iyengar and Kripalu systems.
InSpirit Yoga, as the name implies, is infused with Spirit, adding a spiritual and philosophical perspective to the detailed attention to alignment in every pose. Suzie uses the art of progressive teaching, breaking down the actions of each pose to build on the next in an organized and concrete way. This alignment-based yoga with sound bio-mechanical principles makes it safe and therapeutic for every body. Suzie’s daily practice of meditation and asana has prepared her to teach from a place of deep wisdom balanced with practicality and joy. Her clear and precise teaching style is balanced with fun and authenticity.
Committed to her own spiritual growth, Suzie encourages and empowers her students with enthusiasm and humor to open to all of life with loving acceptance.
